World Congress Early Career Investigator (ECI) Travel Awards

ISHR International is pleased to announce the availability of World Congress Early Career Investigator (ECI) Travel Awards for qualifying applicants from all participating ISHR Sections. The awards will range from $500 to $1,500 depending on distance (travel cost) from the World Congress ($500 for EUR, $1000 for NAS, CHI, JPN, IND and $1500 for AUS and LAT).

Requirements for the awards are:

  • Each recipient must be a paid member of an ISHR Section. Preference will be given to those who were members in 2021 and before.
  • Recipients must be graduate students or within years of their terminal degree (e.g. PhD or MD) at the time of the World Congress (June 12, 2022).
  • Recipients must be the first author and presenter of an abstract submitted to the World Congress.
  • Recipients of Travel Bursaries and Richard Bing Young Investigator finalists are not eligible for Travel awards (i.e. they cannot combine travel awards with the travel support provided for these other awards).

To apply for a Travel Award, eligible ECIs should:

  • Send an email confirming their eligibility and 1) a copy of a first-authored abstract that has been submitted to the World Congress and 2) a biosketch documenting that they are a student or within 8 years of their terminal degree (e.g. PhD or MD) as a single pdf (titled: Travel_Award_2022 – LastName) to the Executive Secretary (llobaugh@ishrworld.org).
  • Extended deadline for receipt of applications is March 15, 2022.

Successful applicants will be notified by April 15, 2022.
